Tip #1: Carefully consider your background.
- Should not be distracting. Watch out for distracting elements behind the model.
- Doesn't clash with the model or their outfit
- Be thematically consistent
- Should be pleasing to the eye
Tip #2: Notice the little details
- Look for stray hairs, loose threads, wrinkled clothing, off-centered jewelry
Tip #3: Posing and Positioning the model
- Avoid a "flat-on" pose as it makes the model appear wider and more confrontational.
- Position fingers in a staircase shape to make them look elegant.
Tip #4: Separate the subject from the background
- Use a background light or rim light, or use a different background colour.

- Tailor the lighting to fit a subject or mood.
